The AKFCF is proud to have one of the best publications in the industry available to its members. The editor of the Quarterly is Michelle Hunt, a 3rd generation KFC franchisee in Iowa who spends tremendous time and energy toward this volunteer position. She has one assistant editor, Julie Mantlo, and is also supported by the AKFCF's Communications Committee.

AKFCF Quarterly History
The AKFCF Quarterly publication, which began as a newsletter in 1980 and evolved into a magazine in 1989, is the voice of today's franchise family and supports the mission of the AKFCF – to unite KFC franchisees worldwide and to protect and advance their interests.
We concentrate on presenting franchisee-focused information and connecting our family members through business-building and human interest articles, as well as committee updates from the various representatives. It is always our intention to be the franchisees’ voice and extend the association’s boundaries across the world, creating the unity we call the KFC family.
There have been only 3 editors of the AKFCF Quarterly and each has had the responsibility to provide a relevant publication full of useful information. We balance legal and business building information, committee and association updates, technical expertise and resources such as a pull-out Directory in each issue, as well as an annual Resource Guide that puts our vendors at your fingertips. Currently, in addition to the Editor position, we have one Assistant Editor, Julie Mantlo (SE), as well as an International Liaison, Zaira Guevara (CARIBLA) who are all volunteers. At our publisher, we have a dedicated publishing editor, art director, and sales team to help bring each issue to fruition.
For our magazine to be self-sustaining we must rely on our vendor partners to generate advertising revenue to cover the cost of the publication. Advertising participation, as you can imagine, fluctuates with the economy and our business. However, it is always our responsibility to break even or return a profit to the AKFCF. We manage our forecast and budget continually throughout the year to ensure a positive outcome.
Though we are rooted in our print publication, we have moved forward with technology by adding the digital magazine that you can find in the member's only section of the AKFCF website as well as direct emailed to members and key employees. We also introduced the Resource Guide in digital format which will help the information stay current throughout the year and give access to our members wherever you are. We launched the eNewsletter in October 2012, led by our assistant editor, and is delivered to members around the 15th of each month. Links to all our digital products are included in each eNewsletter. We also have begun promoting an Industry News section, exclusively for current advertisers, to share press releases and other news with our readership.
With our publishing partner and our very supportive vendor partners, we are moving forward with what I hope you see as a beneficial and integral part of your membership in the AKFCF.
